Sunday, December 10th, 2023 – Tripoli, Libya
A workshop entitled "Optimizing Aviation Safety in the Oil Sector" was held today, organized by the National Oil Corporation in collaboration with Sky Air Navigation Systems. Representatives from several of the Corporation's member companies, as well as air navigation and communications specialists, attended the event.
During the workshop, the safety standards established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) were discussed. In addition, various integrated aviation solutions were presented and analyzed, such as air navigation systems, airport lighting, electrical power systems, communication tower equipment, air traffic control (ATC), mobile and remote towers, meteorological equipment, satellite Internet communications, airport fire stations, fuel supply systems, and automatic landing systems.
The importance of these systems in civil aviation was highlighted, especially their application at airports and in the development of aeronautical infrastructure on the runways of oil fields managed by companies affiliated with the National Oil Corporation.
The main objective of the workshop was to contribute to strengthening the performance of air traffic control towers in these fields, ensuring the application of international aviation quality, safety, and security (AVSEC) standards. Emphasis was also placed on the need to provide both internal and external technical training and to consolidate a strategic and mutually beneficial cooperation between Sky Air Navigation Systems and the National Oil Corporation in the field of air navigation systems and airport equipment.
